What format are your video files in?
We provide several formats for each and every video update to ensure that they are viewable by all of our members. The short non-technical answer is Flash Video (FLV) via embedded player, Windows Media (WMV), and MPeg4 (iPod Ready).
The longer, more technical answer is: Every update has an embedded Flash Video player, which supports seeking to any point in the video, that will work on all Adobe Flash capable browsers. Second, all updates are available in MPeg4, which will play on just about every media player and computer around. It is also optimized for a bitrate and frame size that is supported on all modern iPod video players (either widescreen 640 x 360 at 2Mb/s or non widescreen at 640 x 480 also at 2MB/s). Lastly, all updates are encoded at a very high quality level to Windows Media format. Since most of our content is in High Definition, those videos are available in 2 Windows Media resolutions, HD 1280 x 720 (2.5Mb/s) and SD Widescreen (640 x 360 1.8Mb/s). Our Standard Definiton videos are encoded to Windows Media format at 640 x 480 resolution at 1.8MB/s.

Do you recommend a certain web browser for use with the NAD Network?
While we have gone through laborious efforts to make sure all of the NAD Network sites function well under a variety of conditions and web browsers, we highly recommend Firefox 3. In addition to Firefox 3, all of our web software has been tested to work on Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox 2.0, and Safari 3.0. You can download the newest release of Firefox here.
-
Can I play your videos on a Mac?
Yes, you certainly can! In fact, we do all of our editing and encoding on Mac systems. By default we provide two extremely Mac friendly formats for our customers, Flash Video and MPEG4. The MPEG4 files are designed specifically to be iPod ready, and will also play natively on any Mac (or PC for that matter). You may also play our Windows Media files if your Mac is compatible with the Flip4Mac player, for more details about that please visit Microsoft's Flip4Mac page.
-
Do you guys encrypt your files with DRM?
No, you can download our files and use them for as long as you want with no DRM restrictions. We trust our customers to not pirate our videos, and by exercising that restraint you allow us to continue to afford to make many more videos for your viewing pleasure.
